When I heard my friend at his piano
recital I was jubilant for him, I could not contain all the happiness that I
was feeling for him, and in fact it was spilling onto the floor in the form of
tears of happiness. When I got to the recital, he began playing a form of music
that I had not heard, but had kissed my eardrums and wrapped my brain in a
field of musical fluidity and beauty that every time I would hear it on the
radio from now on I would immediately think of that magical evening when my friend
used all his hard-worked skill into making that simple recital into an
unforgettable one. His fingers were moving as if he were trying to operate some
sort of machinery at its fastest pace, and the keys were just firing away to
whatever note key he pressed as if their lives depended on it. By the time the
recital was over, I felt as if I just heard Mozart himself playing this music,
it was very beautiful and it made me feel as if I was listening to a double
rainbow on a warm sunny day.
I really liked the similes and personification you used- great job!
ReplyDeleteI agree with Amelia! You really came up with some interesting comparisons!
ReplyDeleteNice. Mixed metaphors can be tough, and you did a really good job with them. I especially liked the "listening to a double rainbow" line at the end.
ReplyDeleteI love how you described his playing "as if he were trying to operate some sort of machinery at its fastest pace". And I love your last line.
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed your grandiloquent use of metaphores
ReplyDeleteLove the use of metaphors here! Metaphors can be tricky to deal with but I think you nailed it!
